Our School's Aims

Our Goal

On these pages we want to show you some of the great things that we do at Jesson's C of E Primary School.
There are examples of work done by children, photographs of different areas around the school and videos of school activities.
Please follow the links - we will be adding more so keep coming back.

  • At Jesson’s VA Primary School, Christian values are deeply embedded. Our school is founded on values of tolerance, love and respect, and central to Jesson’s ethos is the belief that every child is unique and important.
  • Our aim is to provide an excellent all-round education for every one of our children so they can achieve the highest academic standards possible, make excellent progress and be the best they can be.
  • We want each child to develop self-respect and to respect the opinions, feelings and beliefs of others.
  • Children and staff will be fully encouraged to develop an active interest and motivation in their own learning.
  • Our school will be a safe, secure and inspiring place that children and staff value and underpins our value of education.
  • We aim to create a happy, warm and welcoming environment for the children, families and neighbours of Jesson’s.
  • We will actively encourage the involvement of parents and carers in school life, to further their child’s education and their own.

Our School's Vision

'Be the best you can be'

‘BE THE BEST YOU CAN BE.’ (School Motto)

  • “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” (Phillippians 4:13)
  • “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)
  • At the heart of Jesus’ teaching is this commandment: “Love one another as I have loved you.” (John 13:34).This is a reflection of the unconditional love of God and the importance of loving our neighbours as ourselves; it is embedded in the ethos of our school, and its place in our community.
  • As a Church of England school in the heart of a spectacularly diverse, multi-faith, multi-racial community, we believe it to be our mission to welcome everyone into our family.
  • The Bible teaches that in Paul’s letter to the Galatians he writes: “There is neither Jew nor Gentile; there is neither slave nor free; nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” (Galatians 3:28)
  • We find similar teachings in other faiths too. To his Sikh followers, Guru Nanak taught that: “Everyone is equal in the eyes of God; there is no rich, poor, male, female, black nor white. The only difference between people is their actions.”
  • In Islam, Prophet Muhammad [PBUH] taught his followers that: “All humans are equal, and worthy of kind treatment.”
  • Human beings are created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26-27), and are loved by Him. Each one of us is unique and valued by God, and so the value of every human being is to be celebrated.
  • It is our school’s fundamental purpose to honour every human being as part of God’s creation, and to enhance their spiritual growth as well as their academic aspirations.
  • At Jesson’s we are proud of our commitment to aspiration, inclusivity, diversity and spirituality, which is founded on the premise that God’s love is universal, and that it is God’s will that everyone should be drawn into a deeper understanding of their life and purpose. Our school is a place of faith, welcome and open-mindedness, demonstrating the nature of God’s grace and love for all.
  • “Generosity of spirit, service to others.” (2 Corinthians 9:6-8)
